Hezbollah: An Indigenous Force Resisting a Foreign, Genocidal Occupation

Drop Site's Jeremy Scahill argued during this week's livestream that what Israel describes as Hezbollah aggression is in reality Lebanese resistance forces fighting against a foreign military occupation that has displaced hundreds of thousands and killed more than 4,000 Lebanese people.

Former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett's recent statements, he says, are just a more prominent articulation of a framing Israel has used for years.

He also notes that Hezbollah's tactics — innovative, relatively cheap, and devastatingly effective — have caused significant panic within Israeli ranks, and that Israel clearly miscalculated how degraded Hezbollah's capabilities actually were going into the occupation.
