"There is no doubt that Iran won this war" — Mohammad Marandi

Break Through News -16 jun 2026

Professor Mohammed Marandi joins Rania Khalek to discuss the reported US-Iran memorandum of understanding, why Iran insists Lebanon’s sovereignty is non-negotiable, and whether Israel could derail the deal before it is even signed. He explains how Iran views the 39-day war, the battle over Lebanon, Gaza’s place in the negotiations, and why he says Tehran has emerged stronger at both the battlefield and negotiating table.

"It’s not that Iran just survived, which everyone across the world was stunned by," says Marandi. "Iran, till the very end, was pounding them day and night. And the damage that Iran did to the US-Israeli regime, and to their proxies in the region, was far greater than the damage they did to Iran in costs."

Iran Has A Right To Defend Itself From Israel's Relentless Aggression w/ Craig Mokhiber

Reasen2Resist - 17 jun 2025

Since Israel attacked Iran several days ago, the so-called “mainstream” discourse in the West has been chock full of proclamations that Israel has a “right to defend itself”.

But there have been few (if any) competent analyses of the legality of Israel’s actions.

To examine the legality of Israel's attacks on Iran and Iran's response to those attacks, Dimitri Lascaris speaks with former United Nations human rights lawyer, Craig Mokhiber.

Craig is a specialist in international human rights law, policy, and methodology. On October 28, 2023, three weeks after Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza began, Craig stepped down as the director of the New York office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, four days before he was due to retire.

In his final letter to High Commissioner Volker Türk, Craig harshly criticized the organization's response to Israel’s war on Gaza, calling Israel's military intervention a "textbook genocide" and accusing the UN of failing to act.

During the interview, Craig referred to a recent article he wrote for Foreign Policy in Focus. That article can be found here:
